A Diamond Certificate is a document that is created by an independent laboratory, such as GIA or AGS, to ensure the quality of the diamond. Graduate gemologists grade and determine the unique characteristics of the diamond to ensure peace of mind when purchasing diamond rings. Houston residents can rest assured that all diamonds at Thomas Markle Jewelers are professionally and independently certified. Purchasing a certified diamond ensures that you know everything possible about the diamond you are buying. When shopping for diamond rings, Houston and Texas residents should always insist on seeing a Diamond Certificate prior to purchase.

Ring Appraisals/Insurance

Ring appraisals are designed for insurance purposes. Appraisals will provide you with the fair market value of the item you purchased; they will not, however, provide detailed specifications of the item like a Diamond Certificate. Appraisals are estimated replacement values used in the case of theft, loss, or damage through your insurance company. Additionally, the appraisal should be updated every so often to ensure current fair market value of jewelry and wedding rings. Houston residents are encouraged to bring us their jewelry for appraisal, whether they purchased it from us or another jeweler in Houston. Engagement rings, diamond rings and all other valuable jewelry should be considered for appraisal on a regular basis.
